April Is...

Planning extra curricular crafts and activities for our children is especially fun when they are based on themes, seasons, and wacky holidays.

Here are a few April "celebrations" to note:

International Guitar Month

Keep America Beautiful Month

National Humor Month: Maybe you could plan for a Joke a Day!

National Garden Month: Here you will find 101 ways to participate

National Kite Month: Check out this list of teacher resources

National Library Week

Earth Day

Easter

TV Turn Off Week: Includes a fun list of poems about TVs.

National Poetry Month: 30 Ways to Celebrate

Math Awareness Month

As an advocate for children it is also important to note that April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, Alcohol & Drug Awareness Month, and Autism Awareness Month.

The Child Welface Association has put together a calendar with 30 Ways to Strengthen Families during April.

  1. I hear it's National Frog Month too... my son got on that bandwagon and is going to blog about frogs every day ~ they are his favorite animal! Here is his site if you want to take a look...
